International Film Festival about Greenland in Berlin

Under the name »Greenland Eyes« - the festival displays movies from and about Greenland in the famous Arsenal Cinema in Berlin April 24 - 30 2012

The festival is unique in its combination of several perspectives on today's Greenland, such as film, art, music, storytelling, politics and more.

This gives the Berlin and international audiences a chance to get a comprehensive insight into the films from and about Greenland.

Various films
The Festival starts with some examples from the German-Greenlandic film history, and then show the new Greenlandic - and international films.

Focus is on today's Greenland and zoom in on particulary towns in Greenland; the future and modern pop culture.

Symposium, exhibition and performance
It's all accompanied by a symposium on Greenland at the Humboldt University's Northern European Institute, which focuses on theoretical and practical aspects of the film in and around Greenland.

Nive Nielsen with his band The Deer Children, actor and storyteller Makka Kleist and Julie Edel Hardenberg's exhibition Sapiitsut / Heroes - will further contribute to an understanding of contemporary Greenland.
