This autumn the photographer Paul Zizka from Canada went to Northern Greenland. He has won numerous photo awards, and when you see his pictures, you understand why. Here he tells us how his visit to Greenland went

– So many times the wanderer in me has stared at the world map, wondering what that big white mysterious island at the top of it looked like, Paul Zizka explains.
– I was finally able to discover, and document, the beauty of Greenland this past September with fellow Canadian photographers Dave Brosha and Stephen Desroches.
– Dave and I run a lot of photo workshops together back home in Canada, but when we started to consider the idea of organizing events abroad in dreamy, exotic, under-the-radar locations, Greenland immediately came to mind.
A logical next step
– We both love the North, having led workshops in Canada’s Northwest Territories, the Yukon and Nunavut, and having been to Svalbard, Norway, Alaska and Iceland. Greenland made so much sense as the next step in our Arctic explorations.
– We were not disappointed. We spent ten days in the Ilulissat and Disko Island areas, being overwhelmed by the photography opportunities available to us. Here are a few early edits from our time there.
– Now Dave and I very much look forward to returning in 2016 with a group of workshop participants!
